I agree. They probably left the market in the mid 1990s when they started expanding at such a rapid pace and started focusing more on their frappuccinos. It just took a while but we're seeing it affect them now.
Excuse me, but was Starbucks ever considered speciality coffee????? I've never tried it, under protest, but speciality coffee. They've made their squillions off of the adding of powders, syrups, additives and sugar upon sugar to their base product. That is not speciality coffee

the quality of coffee shops here in australia makes it hard for any chain to break into the market.
I believe that the australian public in general are more aware of what a good coffee should be and hence the down fall here in Australia of the Starbuck revolution.
